McDonalds for Breakfast

My walking compainion.
Walking to McDonalds for breakfast is a bit of an oxymoron, I suppose, considering I’m trying to lose weight, not gain. And isn’t it McDonalds Diet Coke that I’m trying to not be addicted to anymore?!

Yes, its an oxymoron.  Yes, I’m trying to kick the McD’s Diet Coke habit.

The walk there is 2.75 miles, making a total of 5.5 miles for today.  My blisters from yesterday have grown new blister children of their own.  Each step home was excruciatingly painful, but it was worth it, just to say I’ve done it!

Let me tell you why I would chose McD’s as a breakfast destination.  His name is Kev and he walks (stroller) with me nearly every time I walk.  He loves to go there, I’ve been taking him with me since birth to meet my mother for coffee and his sitter frequently goes there with her crew of toddlers.

We missed the rain.
Another reason is that I’ve been very tired and not quite myself for the past few weeks, obviously related to the loss of blood and subsequent trip to emergency.  For me to make this walk seemed to be a symbolic way of saying “I’m feeling better now!”

Are you wondering what I ate and drank?  I’m proud to say I did not have diet coke despite having ridiculous cravings for it during this last week.  Instead I had an iced coffee with milk which is incredibly high in sugar, and a breakfast burrito with salsa, which is incredibly high in fat, but also high in protein.  Here’s the summary of my breakfast:

Ouch.  That looks much worse than I thought it would.  Perhaps I could go without the iced coffee next time!  Lesson learned.  Point taken, etc.

Almost there!
And that’s exactly what this blog is supposed to be about, “learning” my way towards weight loss, and maybe, just maybe, helping someone else out along the way.
